Default DOHC d15b2???

I was just wondering if anyone has used a d15b2 for they're power plant. I looking to build a motor and im thinking of ordering a b16a. My car is a dx and came with the d15b2 and i was just wondering if they had any potential at all before i went ahead and ordered.

Info such as if any dohc heads can be fit on to it and stuff like that would be nice. Or just the answer im expecting which will probably be "Get the b16a!!". lol, but u never know.

d15 are weaker than the d16 dx motor, got it in my rex and it sucks. sohc will be sohc!! no way of converting to dohc. people rather build a d6z6 motor than the d15. you must be high or have too much money to build such junk!!!

unfortunately, the d15b2 and b7 have incredibly weak and thin connecting rods, and the crank is not the strongest, either...

that is not saying you can't make a d15 into something crazy-

rods, pistons, head studs, 280cc-345cc prelude injectors, the right vtec head to give you about 10:1 compression with the aformentioned forged pistons & a properly installed block guard will make your setup perfect for 10 psi or so...if tuned properly, look for around 200+whp.

for the price of a swap & all associated parts.

So basically its really just a waste because you can barely keep anything from the d15 and you have buy better/stronger parts. I think it would be cheaper to order a b16a whic is 160whp right? Boost it, upgrade all essentials to compenscate for the boost, injectors, ignition, hondata or something( oh, is hondata just downloaded into ur stock computer or is it a complete new computer??), fuel pump and regulator, and hopefully the pistons and rods will hold up. Probably give it 10-14ish psi of boost with a t3/to4e 50 trim .63A greddy setup.

is a 300+whp goal imaginable with a setup like that

300whp is possible, it all depends on the tuning. Just use quality parts and don't skimp on your build.
