Default DOH! rod/cap direction

okay. i'm a dumb ***. i pulled the piston/rod out without marking which way the cap faced on the rod.
i noticed the the rod and cap each have notches in them:

so, am i to assume the notch in the cap goes on the opposite side as the one on the rod?
if i put them on the same side, they don't match...

the notches go on the same side (you can tell by the imprint it left)

:werd: sweet. i'd hate to put it in and be pissed 'cause the bearings were wearing wrong. thanks!
so they both go on the same side of the piston (intake or exhaust.. if forget which) .. but the don't touch, right? 'cause they are on different sides of the bearing.
same side, the rod side faces down on one side, the cap faces up on the other. confusing sounding, but am i right?
i see the imprint in the pictures. thanks again, guys.

also if you look at the side of the rod, you will se a number stamped, if you put the cap on the right way, the number will show up completely, otherwise the number will be half cut off
