Default Doesnt pull as strong as it should

I have a 99 civic si with 94,000 miles.

My motor is strong but it doesnt seem like its getting all the power that it can. Right now i am stock and i am planning to mod it as soon as i get some $$.

But for right now is there anything i can do to it that i can make it get up to stock specs, like tune up..wires plugs. etc and oil change. Im not sure when it was last tuned up but is it worth it or should i jsut keep my stock stuff on.

A stock civic isnt strong to begin with.. im sure the car is fine.. remember you make a lot of your power in the higher RPM band..

but you could do the normal stuff like tune up.. new air filter.. oil change.. and run some injector cleaner..

You might have some carbon build up in your heads.. you might pull them off and have them rebuilt..

Compression check and leakdown test would be a good start.

Toolman...what do you mean he might have carbon build up in the heads and he should have them rebuilt? i hope u mean somehting else beside what i think you mean...b16 only has one head and it isnt as easy as takin it off and having it rebuilt, takes time and money which he dosnt have.

definitely try out seafoam, just search for how to use it. Buy quality parts for your tune up, dohc vtec motors like platinum spark plugs, id recommend ngks. also, ngk blue spark plug wires are a good step up from oem.
