Does this lower the octane level in the fuel???

Hi, the first time I took my emmissons test or smog test, I failed it. Now I poured this garanteed to pass emmissons liquid bottle with a full tank of gas. The car makes this click click clunk clunk sound when I press on the gas escpecially at low revs. Could this be pinging? Could the fluid I added reduce the octane? I have a type R civic hybrid.. Thanks for any info on this one!!!!

chances are its your injectors clicking, basically all that stuff is is a "fuel system cleaner" and it tends to create less hydrocarbons (hence the garunteed to pass theme). cleaner injectors tend to "click," but chances are you compression is high so it oculd be either.

my guess is it is your injectors.
