This is my throttle body off of a B16A, should it have that much carbon build up on it?

 

Give some more info on it. (last cleaning, year, etc.)

If it hasn't been cleaned since 1989 I'd say it looks pretty good

it's a 95 JDM b16a, never been cleaned by me. I've owned the motor for two years.

looks normal just use some carb cleaner and slap it back on.

What are your intake valve clearances set at? If they are set too tight some combustion gasses will get pushed back int the IM. All of that stuff is passing by your injectors too so check and see if those are clean.

The pic you hosted looks normal from what I have seen, so dont panic. Even the back of my tb plate looks like that.

 

the last time i did a valve adjustment i set them to the high side of the spec.

 

Doesn't look too bad... I've seen worse.

Looks normal. Clean it up and get a catch can, it'll still crud up but not as fast
