you mean the one from the valve cover to the intake? no you dont really need it but you do need a mini filter breather for the vlave cover then. just pick up a hose at your auto store and connect it.

Unless you are boosting, which you apparently are not... I would use the hose. It is best to keep the pressures in the valve cover similar to the air moving into the engine. Just my opinion... nothing technical to back it up...

I dunno if it's absolutly necassary but why not just go and get a piece of hose and some clamps and hook it up... piece of mind is worth the extra what $6 ?
