what does a knock sensor do.. well what the hell is it? i heard something about the v-afc changing it.. what to you benefit from changing it? thank you!

 

knock sensor will pick up anything abnormal going on inside the block and retard timing so you don't mess anything else up

Keep in mind, Vtec is ran off of a knock sensor, if your knock sensor sends out a voltage higher than specifications, than vtec wont work...

A knock sensor is a sensor that creates a voltage signal under pressure by crystals...so when theres a knock, it pushes on crystals wich creates voltage...and a specific voltage called "pieso electricty"

 

What if im running a p28 with a obd2 gsr engine in a 94 gsr and hondata, do I still need to hook up the knock sensor. Can I leave the block with no knock sensor in or do I have to put one in?

 

NO you don't need to run it as a p28 has no knock sensor.
