Default does the dust shield serve a real purpose?

after doing my swap i havent gotten around to re-installing all that plastic crap that goes underneith like on each side and under the radiator. is it really worth the hassle of re-installing? i dont see what will get damaged under there, and if it gets a little dirty i could care less. i figure by the time i get it back on i'll have to take it off again to do something. thanks for the input.

It's something they installed to increase reliability in a worst case scenario. I'm sure after 10 years of driving in mud it would make a difference, but for short term I don't think so.

Your engine bay just gets dust and dirt easier. Put it on if you can....

perhaps a poll would have been a better way to go. all you people who have done swaps: do you put it back on afterwards? thanks for the replies guys

Keeps the snow out of the engine bay for me! Driving in 12 inches of snow up to the mountains to snowboard, it serves a purpose. Probably not if you don't think you need it.

i kept it off
almost hydrolocked my engine in a 4 inch puddle because i was going about 40mph through it at half throttle.
I would install it.

uhh the one that goes under the radiator is there for a purpose...it actually aids in cooling by allow the air to have nowhere to go but through the radiator...remove it if you please but if your car starts to overheat in aggressive driving i tol dyou so.

Hell yea it makes a difference, most cars I've seen w/o them their engine bay is hella dirty.... whereas mine is MUCH cleaner, and keeps dibris away from my "wire meshed" turbo so no small children get eaten by my car.... its worth having on the car IMO.
