Default Does the # of bolts on an exhaust flange matter?

I ordered some exhaust flanges from accordinglydone.com and got the wrong ones. I ordered (2) 3 bolt flanges and a 3 bolt gasket. Instead i got the 2 bolt flanges and gasket. Can't i just use these or is there a reason the back of the catalytic converter uses a 3 bolt.

a 2 bolt flange isn't going to line up at all with the 3-bolt. Send them back and get the correct ones.

No i think there's a misunderstanding. This is a custom exhaust so I'll be welding on all the flanges. Instead of using 2 3bolt flanges I'm going to use 2 2 bolt flanges in it's place. Anything wrong with that?

3-bolt would be better. Also, you must have a 3-bolt flange to connect to the stock cat.
