Default Do I really need a tune?????????

Okay so I just got my engine machined its got a \

five angle valve job
head port and polish.
Ross 8.5:1 pistons
Eagle Rods
Eagle Crank
Closed Deck Sleeves

Right now my upgrades are
Walbro Fuel Pump
VAFC 2
Chipped P28
FPR
IHE
If I get a wideband could I just adjust the FP or do I need to have a tuner work his magic on a dyno. I wouldn't mind getting some gains out of the VAFC either.

What do yall suggest I do. I have little time because I bought to go out to sea for 5 months

Wideband is always a good idea, gotta know what th a/f is. If you really want to tune it right i wouls suggest goin with an Innovate LC-1 and Hondata S300. But its not gonna do you any good if you don't know how to tune your motor yourself.

I would say that 95% of builds these days that have internal work will require a tune no matter what. Its the only way you can really figure out if everything is working right for your setup.

Tuning is very important since it will help you max out the potential of your whole combination. You dont spend thousands of dollars to just use 50% of the power you can make. Just a few hundred invested on a good tuner on a dyno is the most bang for the buck you can ever spend your money on.

lose the vafc. You have a chipped p28... There's no need for it. But definitely tune it.

I like the vafc just for the HUD(Heads Up Display) and the tach light instead of having a huge tach light, light up my whole interior. Anybody got a place in the S.D. area to go too. I was going to Engenuity but I keep hearing there shady as expletive..Same thing with green light too.

I'm pretty sure the VAFC doesn't have a heads-up display.

It's called a Vacuum Fluorescent Display.

I LIKE refering to the display it has.

No, I wired it so it shows up on my windshield.
"I'm to close for missles I'm switching to guns!!!"

The guy fucked me on my engine. He calls me and says its done all pissed off and **** I guess he wanted it gone so I take off early and from work and have my shipmate take me up to the shop....he says he still has 2 hours of work left....FU(&!! We flipped the expletive out cuz now were out to sea or the next two weeks and my engine is going to be sitting.. Being deployed sucks !!!!!!!!
