Do I have the wrong o2, its really lean
I just had my engine built and When I got it back it was running really lean. My little o2 driven light show says im running lean, and the car is falling on its face. They guy who built my motor took out my o2 sensor which was a sensor from a civic and put in one from an acura. Could this screw up the car and make it run so lean? Can the sensors be interchanged. Thanks for your help
Ok I just realized I didn't give any good info in my question. I have a four wire O2 sensor for a good knows what integra motor, and my car is a four wire civc o2 hook up for a 96 ex. The problem may not be the sensor, but I want to figure out why when I hit the gas, I get nothing, and why when I drove the car for 2 miles my turbo manifold looked cherry red. Im pretty sure I'm runnning lean, but I seem to have more than adaquite fuel pressure, I'm running the same injectors i ran before the motor work, the fuel pump is the same and even my hondata program is the same. I ran pig rich before the motor work, the only thing that really is different is that now I have a lower compression ratio. Shouldn't that make it run even richer? Could my timing be off and cause this problem? Would it be too retarded, or to advanced. Thanks for the help.
Heres the deal.. The narrowband o2 sensor can only read in a "narrowband", hense the name.. Now.. On your little o2 light show gauge its only going to show you anything real in closed loop operation..
When you floor the gas where are the little lights at on your gauge.. It should be in the rich.. If its in the lean or stoic. then you might have problems..

I didnt think the obd mattered.. I just thought they were all 0-1 volt.. But I guess the actual air/fuel would make a difference in the voltage.. Ahhhh.. It could only be off by a small amount anyway, I dont think it would matter for a narrowband..
