It's nice to see making their own parts. This is exactly what my plan is. As soon as I have built a motor good enough for my liking. I'm filling out the header design service form by either Header by Ed or Burns Stainless. I'm going to be using the collectors from Header by Ed with mild steel tubing and bends. When I'm absolutely sure that I have built a good enough header then I'll go through the trouble of lending a TIG welder and use stainless steel tubes and bends.

P.S. Of course, I WILL be taking a few classes on MIG and TIG welding. No offense, but I want my header to look pretty too.

FWIW, I'm doing the very same thing for my project. I too took advantage of the design services from Burns and Headers by Ed.

The only surprising thing was about how Ed goes on and on about the consequences of oversized headers. When I bought my tubing from Reid Washbon, it was their opinion that Ed's recommended collector size was too *large.* Go figure.

Oh, and Ed does not recommend tri-Y's.

That's interesting. Did he say why he doesn't recommend them? I'd LOVE to hear a good reason for that.
