i hqve a 93 cx stock. my disturbutor is making noise that is loud enough to hear it from inside the car. i check it out and eveything seems fine. it just started doing this. after a about 5- 20 min drive tha check light will come on and you can feel the car bog for a second. when i stop the idle will run up and down. anyone know whats wrong or what i can check? the check light goes away after the car is turn off and runs fine again when started up, but the disturbutor noise stays.

 

did you open up the dizzy and check the rotor? i sounds like the rotor screw is getting loose causing your car to bog...check that and then let us know what happens....or atleast me....

 

It may be the bearing in the distributor going bad. The will cause the snot to walk in the distributor where your sensors are picking up the sync patterns and may be going in and out of the signal area. Just a thought as to what you may have.

 

to cheak the bearings take the three 12mm bolts that are holding the distributor on off and take the distributor off and spin the shaft on the back of the distributor. if it is hard to turn then they are bad. if the shaft is good then it will turn but will have like a little stutter to it. that is the magnets inside the distributor doing their job.

 

i check the rotor it's fine, that was the first thing i check. i think b20turojason is rigth i tried that today and it was hard to spin it. so does that meani need to replace the whole disturbutor? it's throwing code 9. whats code 9??
