Recently my car has been bogging & studdering at mid throttle. I checked the cap/rotor and find red dust all over the distributor under the cap. Now it was my understanding that red dust indicates a bad bearing in the distributor. Is my assumption correct?

usually red dust can be an indication of rust fro moisture which will casue a bearing to go bad

its not the timing belt i'm concerned about, i had that changed when i put the motor in. I just need confirmation that the distributor is bad before i order a new one. Thanks for the help.

its not 100% certain but the dist is probably bad. go through a testing procedure located in a helms to verify.
