Default distributor problem.. i think

hey what's up,

so i did a z6/b7 mini-me swap in my 94 sedan. i didn't have a z6 distributor so just for start up purposes. i used the b7 distributor unbolted. car fired up without even a single rotation. i ran it for a sec, then turned it off. needless to say the b7 distributor wasn't staying in place so i took it out to burr the holes. when i was taking it out plugged in the distributor arced off on the head. so i continued to burring the holes to fit for now. when i got done i put it back on. and nothing. sounds like no fire...so i pull the wires and check for spark.. it has a very weak fire. so my first thought is that i messed up the coil when it arched off. got a new coil. tried it still nothing.. so i bought a used z6 distributor off ebay, because i needed one anyway. installed it, still nothing.. tried another p06. still nothing. i can't help but think that i just need to buy a new distributor because the one i bought was really corroded when i opened it up like it had been exposed to salt water. any suggestions? and when i call the parts store they tell me they need some part code because they say there are two different ones?

thanks alot

yes i checked the ecu and battery fuse. it does spark but just barely. when it turns over it kinda acts like the timing is off. i reset the timing to make sure it wasn't 180 out. correct me if i'm wrong, but seing as how the cam is notched to where it'll only go on one way it would be impossible for it to be 180 out?

keep in post will figure it all out, anywayz pull your 12mm bolt from ur cam sprocket. just cuz there notched don t matter. Ive had these nothes crack right off before a few times therefore da cam sprocket slipz and turns itz own way in circles. the other day my si did this also! guess what it was! my rotor inside the dizzy & cap well the plastic rotor got hot and cracked off & then wen i pulled my cap, my rotor fell out in pieces. This is why my timming felt funny.

yeah i definitely have fuel. i forgot to tigten up the fuel line when i first put it back together and it sprayed fuel all over the place. when i turn it over it spins a few times then backfires. the spark is really weak. it ran fine before i took the distributor off to drill it out. that's what made me think it's something in the ignition, or the timing possibly
