anybody can teach me how to differentiate B18CR ( Type R ) Block and B18C GSR Block? How can i see it? I'm intend to buy B18CR block from my used parts dealer here in Malaysia. I don't want cheated by the seller later on. If can any picture for my good reference.
On the block, one will say b18c1 (gsr) and the other will say b18c5 (type r)
a b18c5 will also have domes on the pistons whereas the gsr will not

im not to sure if those would be the correct markings for an asian motor... i think they would both say b18c... dont hold me to that though

you are wrong only on USDM motors do they have a number after the letter.
B16A JDM
B16A1/2 USDM
B18C5 USDM ITR
B18C JDM

dmotoguy is right, if your in Malaysia you'll probably be looking at JDM motors and they all say B18C regardless. B18C5 was specifically US/North America.
If its long blocks visually, the red valve cover is a start, but anyone can change that easily. You can then go by the intake manifolds. The GSR has the dual runner manifold that looks different from the usual Honda manifold. Search for some pics on H-T it should be an obvious difference.
