Different Dynos ????
I have a turbo b18c which dynoed at 277.4 whp @ 9 psi on a Mustang dynometer. Is there a difference b/w a Mustang/ Clayton/ Dynojet dyno when it comes to HP readings and accuracy? What is the most accurate if any? TIA...
yeah, there is a different acuracy on the dynos. The dynomite dynos with 2 rollar wheels are more acurate. They measure real tourqe. Dynojet dynos try to measure horsepower which in turn tells the tourqe. This is the wrong way to do it as horsepower is a figure of tourqe. Also, the same brand dynos at other peoples shops will have different read outs because of wear and the way they set it up.
i had my car dynod about 2 months ago and it only read 152bhp which i thought was way too low, i done compression test/leak down, changed plugs and wires and brought it to another dyno shop, it read 191bhp this time> i reckon the user also has a lot to do with the readings, the first guy i went to obviously hadnt a F#*king clue what he was at!!
So does anyone know about this "MUSTANG DYNO" ? I'va never heard of it and I have a feeling that I'm making more HP than that. BTW the link for Dynopack.com is a food packaging company.
