Differences between B17 and B18C Piston Rings?
I'm starting to gather some parts for my LS/VTEC build. I just called Acura, and asked them for some part #'s and prices.
I have a set of JDM PR3 pistons, which I think are standard bore (gonna double check before buying of course). They didn't come with rings, so I wanted to get some OEM Honda rings.
They gave me this information:
92-93 B17 Piston Rings: 13011-PR3-003, 48.14 CDN per set. (Need four sets)
97 B18C Piston Rings: 13010-P72-A00, 101.13 CDN per set.
Same bore size.
Why are the B18C piston rings so much more expensive? What are the differences, if any?? I thought they'd be the same thing, seeing as all B series engines except the B20 have the same bore size.
