difference between obd1 and obd2
I currently have a 97 civic with a gsr swap. My friend gave me his obd1 b16 motor. Can Anyone tell me if I can use some parts from the obd1 b16? Like head block cams etc. Thanks
all the parts are interchangable, the gsr head has a higher compression ratio, the gsr cams are a little better, the gsr has a girdle on the bottom end, the OBD1 and OBD2 difference is mainly the wiring and sensors, like Crank positioning sensor on 0BD2 and there are 2 o2 sensors on OBD2. i personally think that GSR is better, what u can do is just get an OBD2 - obd1 jumper harness to convert the ecu to 0BD1 and get a P28. the OBD1 p28 has more flexibility for tuning and IMO the OBD2 has too many sensors that are really not needed unless for emissions
