diferental ned help fast please

Default diferental ned help fast please

i busted my differental! (my car dont go to mechanic shops for 1 i dont have the money and for 2 only 1/3 of them know what they are doing) so what i want to know is if anyone has ever changed there differental and can it be changed with out messin up everything else.(what im trying to say is, wil the diff... come out in one piece without pulling any gears or any thing.

Or should i break down and get a whole new tranny which i can't afford!

Sorry if it is not clear on what im trying to say but please help

p.s if it can be done with basic hand tools i can do it. i just need to know if that is the case

It's quite a job, yet it can be done with generally simple hand tools and a Helms manual. You will have to pull two shafts out of the transmission... one is bolted together, the other one is loose... so it must be held together.

You also gonna need the differential shims, so i would say order a bunch and after you measure with one to use bring the rest back.
Make sure you clean the inside of the tranny real good, broken pieces of metal inside tranny=bad.
