did I kill my transmission?
Ok so for the past month or so, my clutch has made a metallic creaking/humming noise when I let the clutch out in 1st gear, especially going uphill from a stop. My master/slave cylinders are working fine, so I assume its my TOB or perhaps my disk itself is going. Anyway I've been meaning to replace the clutch.
The problem has been getting worse, and last week I noticed that I'm beginning to have trouble getting into *every* gear. There seems to be a very slight grind going into gear, similar to the feeling of switching to 1st gear during a very slow roll. I have stopped driving the car altogether pending the installation of a new clutch/flywheel.
My question is: could the slight grind be a result of the throw out bearing being worn down? or do you think I've gone and killed my synchros/gears? I'm asking because I don't wanna go out and by a clutch/flywheel combo if my gearbox is F'd.
TIA
BTW the motor is a H22A4 from a 2000 prelude. stock clutch/flywheel
