did a compression test, but all good. What else?????
I posted this in the forced induction forum but no one has replied so I'm trying my luck here. I just did a compression test on my car. I took out all the spark plugs, took off the fuel injectors clips, and cranked 7-8 times with full throttle. I got this procedure from the honda manual. my compression numbers were:
183 175 178 180 (the 183 is the one closest to the distributor cap)
but I still have white smoke at idle, and I also have white smoke when I accelerate then let off the gas without hitting the clutch and then accelerate again, then it puffs smoke sometimes real bad. I'm thinking the turbo seals are going cause when I first put it on it was shooting oil out the compressor housing. Then my wastegate won't work and its spiking to 15 psi. So I'm hoping its just the turbo seals since I'm planning on replacing the turbo anyways.
So what do you all think?

Even though the compression test was all ok?
What exactly is there in a leak down test? Can I do it myself or should I goto a shop?

you might also want to check if your intake manifold gasket is damaged
you can buy a leakdown tester, its not too hard to do

Also with the rings won't my vacum gauge be reading different? Its been at 20-22 in/mg since I went turbo, before the smoking and ****.

2) is there oil in your exhaust port right after you see white smoke test that
3) compr test will only catch if compr rings are on the way out, if oil rings are going it wont cathc it, thats what leakdown will tell you.
4) vlave seals can go too ... leakdown will tell you
5) buy leakdown test from summit racing
if you have an air compressor you can do leakdown yourself.

2. What do you mean oil on my exhaust port? Should I drive it around and take the O2 housing off my turbo and check for oil? I'm a little un-clear on what this means.
3, 4, and 5. So I should look into buying a leak down tester then I take it? lol
Thanks,
Nick
