DESPERATE help needed in passing emissions
heres what i have
90 DX HB
MPFI swap
I/H/E
the MPFI swap used a stock 91 SI ECU, accord resistor box, complete 92 DX intake manifold using non-obd b18a injectors.
so ive failed emissions 5 times so far, btw, i have a gutted cat, but keep reading. the first time i went thru stock. 2nd time was with injector 2 unplugged, 3rd time was a new O2 sensor and a valve job, 4th time was with an HF computer(which failed MISERABLY), 5th time was with a used 91 integra cat. i got the closest to passing with the cat(obviously). heres the latest test with the integra cat.
hydrocarbons loaded-155 standard-220
hydrocarbons idle-217 standard-220
carbon monoxide loaded-3.32 standard-1.20
carbon monoxide idle-0.69 standard-1.20
so as you can see, when loaded, i dumping WAY too much fuel. the guy at emissions is really cool and explained that a new cat would NOT fix that problem and theres some sensor thats telling the ECU to dump too much fuel. i thought maybe my MAP sensor is bad or the FPR(stock) is broke. the car runs PERFECT, runs low 15s here in tucson and i dont throw any codes. one thing it might be is im using the 92 DX FPR and im wondering if that has a higher PSI than a 88-91 FPR. i REALLY need help here, i have 2 weeks to get this fixed and with those results, i cant even qualify for a waiver.
oh and the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs were changed less than 1000 miles ago. im using #5 plugs(hottest you can go for my car)

There are a couple variables of why you would be running rich. The fuel pressure could be too high, you could have a clogged air filter, a bad CTS sensor, thermostat stuck open. There are tons of things unfortunately, did he give you any of the other readings off the 4/5 gas. . .HC/CO/02/C02/NOx. . .these might help alittle.
I passed emissions with my 11yrs old cat on my jdm b20b and b17 head setup. The reason? I was using stock fuel pressure regulator from a b16, not providing enough gas for anything.
B&M FPR is only $50. Try that.
