Default small pits on crankshaft

ok im about to rebuild this b16 block that i have. On the crank on #3 and #4 connecting rod journals their is a very very small pit on each maybe from being hit by something like a wrench. I need other opinions whether its still ok or not. The journals are perfect except for those pits. let me know what you guys think. thanks

i don't think that's gonna be ok. the reason i think that is because the rod bearings pretty much spin on a film of oil on the crank. i dunno i could be wrong though. wait for other replies before doing anything.

Without seeing the crank, I wouldn't want to say.
My opinion is that if there is any imperfection on the crank journols, they should be resurfaced and new bearings sized and installed.

the crank looks real good. the dents arent even that obvious. Lets say they arent dents then. let say they are small pits.

yeah that means that your crank is out of round most cranks can be out .030 wich is really hard to see. so if you can see it thats bad. ok take your your mic to it and check the journals.

You could be ok. If the dent is 1/8 inch diameter or less and not jagged where it would be prone to crack, then extra oil will accumulate there and may actually be a plus. As long as it is not jagged where it would scar a bearing, I would run it and not worry. All this being said, the crank in general has to be in spec as to journal size and condition etc. Have a machine shop check it out. Probably don't want to grind it under size.

alright cool! i think it would be ok too. i mean the journals are real smooth with no scratches or anything. just the little pits. when i say little i mean little. But ill have a machine shop check it out anyway.
