Default deciding on motor and performance possibilities

im trying to come out with the best performance for my dollar without sacrificing reliability, that much economy, and daily driveability. im looking at the b20z,gsr,b16a(2nd gen),etc. any recommendations on motor and what type and different bolt ons and internals. it would be nice to run high 13's here at 4400 ft eventually but just a fun fast motor would be nice. all suggestions welcome, just keep in mind the $$$ factor.

If you want vtec, get a prelude swap. If it doesnt matter get b20z. The lude swap costs about the same as a gsr swap so there imediately more bang for the buck. But theres the weight issue, proper suspension upgrades will take care of that. H22's LOVE nos. You will easily hit 12's with a 70 shot. H22's dont like turbos so if you want one get a b-series.

If you want a more direct swap get a b20. Theres no reason to start with a tiny little 1.6 if 2.0 if available. As for hybrid engines, theres more power to be had with a turbo, and to build a good reliable hybrid it will cost the same amount. Turbo is just easier.

i dont really like the extra cost of the mount kit and the more difficult swap for the h22. i like the b20z but im trying to figure out performance/dollar. the b20z is supposed to compare to a gsr until about 3rd gear when the gsr is supposed to pull pretty well. also piecing together a swap where i live will be more expensive. how will the performance of say a b20z compare to a b16a with the same mods: intake, exhaust, intake man.,tb,etc. it seems just like a tough choice. i like the torque of the b20, but also the hp of the b16a. KEEP THE INFO COMING!!

you can get a b16a swap then later on buy a b20 block and youll have a nice fast setup.

Depends if you like boost or not. If you have a chance ride in a fast Honda that is turbocharged. If you get bit by the boost bug, then go turbo. If not, and you like the scream of All Motor go LSVTEC or B16A.
