hi, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. (search is currently down)

i got a dead battery after sitting over the weekend. no alarm or anything to draw current. lights were off and autolock was not making the brake lights to go off. i jumped it this morning drove it for 20 minutes. parked, tried to start it 30 min later and it was still dead. so since i just drove it and the batterylight was not on while driving can i rule out my alternator? the battery is a 2 yr old odyssey. was working perfectly for daily driving the week before.

so that leaves battery crapping out? sidenote: i was getting a once a month CEL that was the ELD code. but it would only flash for 10 sec and then go out.

Might have been a weak cell in the battery that finally gave up. I wouldnt
necessarily rule out the alternator as of this point though. Get a different
battery first and see if that fixes it.

 

yeah, that is what i was gonna try today.

would the cell being bad be the cause for the CEL's of ELD coming up every so often for a couple seconds? or could there be something not letting the alt charge the battery thinking the batt is charged?

oh yeah, the batt posts and connection is clean not corroded.
