Yes, decking and honing is part of the sleeving process.

All sleeves have to be Bore and honed.

THey start out as a certain bore. Usually smaller than stock or close to stock bore. Then the machine shop will bore it to the size you need. Matching the bore to the clearances of the pistons you are going to use. It is finished of by decking the block to get a flat surface on the 'deck'.

Everything for 1800 ( labor only )
I had the sleeve done
Balance crank/piston/rod
put GSR girdle on.
Engine is a LS. That's about it...

Shoot the hole buttom end. Cost me around 2500...
All brand new parts.
CP piston
Eagle Rod
Eagle Crank
Darton Sleeve
GSR girdle
Type R oil pump
OEM Gaskets ( Cranks )
ACL bearings

I got no choice but pay the 1800 or lose all those....
Never going to that shop again.

for what you got(parts and labor), we charge about $3700 or so. And people think thats way too much already.
I beleive its fair for the parts and service that they get. and we use OEM bearings too, blueprinted etc.
