http://www.dartheads.com

Its basically a LS or CR-V bolck with a closed desk and oil squirter inserts.

You can get increased deck height.

the dart blocks are around 2100 dollars i believe and and there is only one out on the road right now and it is not broken in yet. and i am pretty sure you will be able ot get them in a 2.1 liter and a 2.0 liter.

The price to get a block and getting it sleeved is usually around umm $3500 dollars. It will then require strenthening the girdle and what-not. Or pay 2100 ready to take all the boost you can tweak. are still the best block designs I've seen and Dart simply improved.

pick up a complete B18A or B18B for 650 or so, GE sleeves for around seven bills, thats alot cheaper than the Dart block, on the other hand, AEBS sleeving does cost that much (just short of two grand if I'm not mistaken) so compared to the AEBS, yes it is worth it, but will I ever own one? Hell No! Why? I'm not rich, and if I had $2100 cash laying around, you can find me sitting infront of my new 65" 16:9 T.V., beer in hand.

I'm not rich either I just wouldn't skimp on the most important stuff. can your ~$600 sleeves handle 50+psi ? I've heard the golden "Eaglet" Godzilla sleeves can and they cost like ~$2500 installed. I looked towards this as a very interesting purchase that can be built upon very easily and I could still just hone and bore the cylinders instead of resleeving after 100,000mi. I plan on using my car as a daily and trck monster I love Wisconsin. Nothing but weak Gran Prix, a couple dsms, and a hand full of mexican Ghetto slugs With chrome tape and fart cans

Golden Eagle Sleeves can hold 50+psi, and no they don't cost $2,500. More like $750-$850 range.

Those blocks dont include anything, but the bare block, and main caps. you have to BUY everything else. might as well find a B18A1 with a good crank and use all those parts... crank, sensors, fittings, windage tray, pan, all of it...not even any studs.

i would rather spend the same amount of money and have 2 blocks with golden eagle sleeves even with deck plates. then one dart. im not sayin they are a bad product, they are great but, the price is too high. as soon as another company does it the price will drop considerably. and as far as vince and ted go over at golden eagle they are the best. im having my block done by them and they are always willing to talk about ideas. if it wasnt for them i probably wouldnt have gone as crazy with my setup as i have. how about sealing and bottom end leaks like everybody running sleeves hard seems to suffer from?

you cannot compare a dart block to eagle sleeves in a stock block. though we have yet to run a dart honda block, dart has built a reputation for kick *** blocks, i do not expected to be let down. however with a new block comes some trade offs. you lose the ease of building a stock honda engine. all the precision measuring is done, you just have to match numbers to get colors for bearing size...how easy is that. a dart block you will have to {or your machine shop rather} line hone to block to your own number if its off for what you want.

eagle sleeves seem decent. but the stopleak in the radiator? come on man...that **** does something horrible to your cooling effiency. eagles do leak, ive seen them leak and damnit i dont like them. if you are going to build a stock block leave the sleeves stock. the money you save should be spent on ecu and tuning. think hondata, or similar. say no to fmu's and afc's they are course and crude..they suck.

fyi tonight we made 502 on a civic si at 25psi. the motor having eagles seemed to want to leak coolant internally, and we found all sorts of nasty s hit in the radiator {red rtv sealant left by eagle} lots of it at that. and yes, the block was thoroughly cleaned before and during assembly process.

moral of the story. stock sleaves are cool...other customer making 440 to the wheels, went 10.80's so far. stock everything except for pistons and rods.....

think tuning. proper tuning. even the best most costly internals and blocks will suffer an untimely demise if subjected to excessive abuse cause from a poor tune. Detonation is 5 times more powerful than combustion, no piston can endure that.

Hey do you guys know that JG can make a 87mm bore block for you.

Javier spreads the bore out to allow the block to run the bigger sleeves. He also makes the headgaskets to since the stock ones will no longer fit properly.

Pretty trick stuff.

How does he stretch the head out to fit the gasket?

I haven't heard any good things coming out of JG lately. I have heard quite a few bad things though. Hopefully they get back on track with their customers.

its simple offset the sleeve in the engine like vr6 volkswagen and you have it then you have to weld up one side of cc and machine out other side. or offset bore the sleeve and do the same to the combustion chamber. cc

He makes a gasket from scratch I would believe.

There is one other thing you guys are forgetting about the Dart block. Specifically, it has a raised deck. This means that it can run a MUCH better rod ratio than a resleeved stock block. You could probably get a rod ratio of around 1.65:1 even with a 95mm stroke. It would cost MUCH more than $2100 to have a deck plate welded to a stock block to get the same deck height that you get from a Dart block.
