Default Dart block question

Since my other setup gave up the ghost (B20VTEC, not due to sleeves cracking though, but machine shop neglegence on machining the valve seats and them cracking and breaking off in my engine while driving) I figured if I do it again, I'm going all out. I want to do a Dart block since I'll be running around 13:1 CR. Yes high, I have everything else planned already. What headgaskets are best for this, Cometic? Also do the main caps need to be line honed or are they all on spec. I know the cylinders need to be bored to spec for your pistons. I plan on using ACL bearings for this. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Dart block question (PandaHatch)

The Cometic gaskets seem to be the #1 choice for most of our customers. Fel-Pro has a new MLS gasket out that looks good, though we haven't yet tried it. The mains are already line honed. As a standard procedure, you should still check all tolerances when you install your bearings. The cylinders need a finish hone. We leave them -.5mm for this.

If you have more questions, email me, or darttech@dartheads.com.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks for the reply, just wanted to make sure, I knew you had to bore/hone the walls, just didn't know about the mains.
