due to ice and mounds of snow people throw in the roads thinking its gonna go away in 25 degree weather, this is what happened to my header. obviously as you can see its been welded a few times but it looks like the welds held up fine and the piping broke right after the flex pipe.

i ordered a new hytech replica header and NEED to drive my car in the mean time. if i take off whats left of my header from the exhaust piping then i should be fine, it doesnt look like the GReddy piping will be dragging. BUT i obviously will be running an open header and am worried about the dangers in that. ive heard that too much back pressure could cause valvetrain damage (i have a bone stock internally H22). is that true?

The problem would be less back pressure.
It is nothing that can't be fixed, [temporarily] with a tin can and a pair of large hose clamps, [even bailing wire].
Cut both ends out of tin can, [can with larger diameter then pipe], cut can along seam, wrap can around pipe install hose clamps/bailing wire to hold can in place around pipes.
This is such an oldschool quick fix I was surprized I could not find a DIY with pix...

thanks for the tip. im fine with running open header until my new one comes in. i just dont want it to cause damage on a stock valvetrain in the 5-7 days i would be driving it like that.
If you do not go WOT all the time I can not see what problem you could have, then the question is, as mentioned, how are the "excessive noise" bylaws in South Amboy, could you end up with a ticket? 94

you should be fine running open header. i used run mine open its jsut gunna be really loud so watch for cops i know around me its a $90 fine for noise which sucks. besides that nothing alse really to worry about except fumes in the car. or if ur car is backfireing or something cuz then u cud end up lighting ur car on fire since its letting out right about at the shifter. but shouldnt be any prob if cars running nice
