DA tach going haywire

Default DA tach going haywire

just washed the engine on my 91 integra ls automatic, and first the cel light goes on. check the ecu, no codes. turn back on then the tach starts going haywire. what could be wrong?

u washed the motor?? I hope u covered ur distributor up and other wiring and didnt spray water over the top of the valve cover (cuz water fills up in the spark plug tubes). I would say u got moisture in something thats not suppost to have moisture in it. Under normal circumstances where no one has gotten water in anything, i heard the ignitor inside the distributor is the culprit. All u would need to do is get a new one.

Check spark plug tubes for water and open the distributor up to see if any got in there too.
