DA integra wiring problem
Hey guys I'm new to HT. I bought a da integra the other day from an old man who said it had a problem with the headlights and a blown headgaske. Well I got the car back home and got it started to pull it off the trailer and put it in reverse and the car died. I tried it again and the same thing. Pushed it off the trailer and started one more time and turned in the headlights and it killed the car. Started it again and the lights stayed on and the car ran but when I went to shut it off the car stayed running and and the lights stayed on. I tried everything and it just wouldn't shut off. I started messing with it again today and now it will start but as soon as i turn the lights on the car dies and when the car is shut off If you press the horn, press the brakes, or turn the headlights or marker lights on the temperature gauge lays all of the way kver showing that the car is hot without the key on And the little voltage box thingy (not sure what it's called) in the passenger side of the floor will vibrate and make a loud noise. When you turn the key over it won't do the 3 clicks and fuel pump won't prime. Sorry for being such a noob and I hope I don't get roasted to bad. I've looked everywhere and can't find anything on the problems I'm having. Any help will be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance.
Bump. Having similar issue with my hatch. Turn the ignition off but car keeps running until I turn off the headlights.
Could be that my ignition wires were cut from previous owners and I'm guessing the ground behind the dash wasn't connected. Still have to put back the dash.
Not trying to steal the thread at all just interested if anyone else's has experienced this.
My guess op, is that we're going to have to check continuity on our ignition and light switch wires.
As far as your fuel pump prime test your main relay.
Any check engine lights

I agree completely. I would love to spend a day looking into it but I usually work 80 hours a week. It pretty crazy how it could act up like this. I bought a new main relay today to see if that would clear anything up. Needless to say I spent $60 for nothing. I've got the dash somewhat torn apart so tomorrow if I can get out of work I'll look more into it. I'll keep you posted if I have any luck.
Yea guys that's weird. First thing I would do is crack into the steering column and check out if anything is wired up to the ignition wiring. Just try to get everything separated and working on its own. Who cares if the lights don't work at first, try to get the car up and running and shutting off when it's supposed to then work on the lights. The head gasket might be a larger problem for now though, don't want to warp anything.
Totally slipped my sight: Head gasket is a must.. Loss in compression and water in your cylinders prevents it from starting up right. Fix that first.
Could up end up being worse= I would recommend you to deglaze cylinder walls and install new piston rings. You don't want to end up realizing that you are losing a quart of oil every 2days because you didn't bother doing the extra work .. Like me...
Im pretty sure someone will stumble upon this. You should have tested your relay first before having bought it. If it doesn't end up being the problem for your fuel pump hopefully you can return it for your cash back.
It's better to troubleshoot before you just throwing money at it.
Takes some time but you can pin point the problem.
