D16Z6 won't start! HELP!!
My D16Z6 won't start, drove all Thursday with no problems, had a CEL for a couple hours Wednesday but it cleared itself after a couple hours so I never got a chance to flash it and see what the code was. It was having no real problems running, except the occasional cut out at low R's. Then Friday morning it just wouldn't start, it cranks and cranks and cranks but no start. I checked for spark and fuel and had both then. Now it has no spark, but plenty of fuel and compression. I'm about to go downstairs and put a new rotor, ignitor and cap on it.

Before you go and spend time and money on something you may not need, check the obvious first, check and see if there ign. power getting to the distributor assembly, [probably a black/yellow lead], then move on the checking all the connections to the components inside the distributor, if all good then move on and check the components and replace if needed.
Diagnosing problems by replacing parts is an expensive way to go about it, and unless the parts are new you will not know, if car will still not start, if the part you replaced is also bad or is it something else. 94

Re: D16Z6 won't start! HELP!!
I was not telling my daily plans, I was asking for suggestions in case what I replace didn't work. I got new distributor parts from a friend who works at Honda, and the dizzy was the only thing left. I replaced the rotor, coil, and ignitor all for about $50 with new or nearly new Honda genuine parts, and she fired right up. Thanks for the input anyway guys.
