Default D16Z6 Fuel filter torque?

After replacing the stock fuel filter is it necessary to torque down the banjo bolt to specs or can I just wing it and hand tighten?

the torque spec is somewhere in the mid 20 ft/lbs range i think, so its pretty much just a a lil more than really handtight. i would torque it anyway, just to avoid any potential problems of fuel spilling
