Default d16y7 block w/y8 vtec head

Anyone know what needs to be done to put a y8 head on my y7 block, other than wiring? I was reading an ls/vtec thread, it showed an oil line going from where the oil flter mates the block to the head. Yes, bseries is different, I know.
For non-vtec d-series I've heard/read one could just slap it on and wire it . A y8 hg is needed too, right(for the vtec solenoid passage)? I need some help, no flaming please ( i searched)
Thanks.

Sure, click the following link. It's a swap I did, and I made a massive write up on it.

I don't know man. That guy doesn't seem like he was doing it right. I didn't have to take off the crank pulley when I took of the the Timing belt... but thanks. Anyone else know?

Umm, I did that write up myself. It doesn't seem like I know what I'm doing on the swap?

Find a better write up and show it to me.

Btw, can you tell me how you take the timing belt off?

I couldn't find a way to get the bottom of the timing belt cover off w/ out remove the crank pulley.

You can simply hit the timing belt adjustment and slip it off the cam gear if your not replacing it. However I replaced mine.

Sorry dude, I didn't mean anything by it, but yeah..I'm not replacing the timing belt. Thanks. As for searching, I didn't thinkit would be called mini-me because it's not 1.5. thanks HELLUVALOT though .

It's cool. Like I said, just losen the timing adjustment, and you should have enough slcak to slip the belt off.

Hope the write up helps.

so you can use the same hoses, right... or will they be kinked. Everything should pop off and pop on right, (hoses-wise)? that's the impression that I get.

Hoses will work fine.

If you use the y8 IACV, you will need to rewire it. Also, vtec will need wired.

All the information is in the write up I made.
