Default -v-tec Running to rich (Help!)

I have a civic-si and installed a new cold air intake and cat-back exaust . Still passes emissions (barely), bought car new, never had rich problems. Now excessive black bumber syndrome and lost 40-50 miles per tank of gas. I think it is too much fuel - what about you? Any remedies?

I say buy a FPR and put the car on the dyno. Make sure you use get an A/F reading so you can tune it up.

mine did the same thing, basicly the way it works is that you gave it more air, and made the gasses get expent more efficiently, so, your motor is compensating for the additional air and is giving it more fuel, it's not really a problem.

If you decrease rail pressure will the injector atomize properly? And what kind of instrument do you need to achieve air fuel readings and do most wheel dyno places have them? Decreasing fuel pressure - I was thinking along those lines.

Don't you think leaning it out will make it run more effeciently, more power, etc. ?
I do know lean is mean...

does anyone know what the safe range is ? ( reading on a digital a/f gauge) this one shows voltage from sensor. now im trying to lower the injector pressure W/a man. pressure reg..... hope to get a few 10ths

by decreasing fuel press, you will be loosing power, how would u gain power by taking away fuel? you need fuel to make power, you guys just make no sence

Can adjusting/tuning cam gears with the use of a dyno actually cure the running rich problem? My b16a's running rich and that's what the mechanic told me.

benj, ajusting your cam could make a differance, but first try upgradeing your ignition system coil, cap, plugwires, plugs . This will help the fuel burn, then if you want to buy a ignition box you will have enough spark to light vegas. but in anwsor to your question, yes it could help but it may not cure it .
Im trying to stay close to my baceline without changing everything , tuning is just that .

what psi. is to low ? before having to move to a chip or apex controler to back off on my fuel, what about changing my inlectors ? are the ones in a d16z6 the smallest stock ones?

tbisme, my mechanic says that the cam timing needs to be advanced to cure my particular running rich case. my ignition system is all stock, im gonna be changing plugs, might as well change the wires. af ratio on the dynojet is at an almost consistent 12. my cold idle's also fucked up (they say because of running rich), when the engine's cold and i drive the car, stepping on the clutch while in gear will cause the rpm to drop really low, oftentimes stalling the engine. someone told me it's because the engine is running rich and it can't properly burn all the fuel yet when it's cold.
