Default D16 -> D18

Is the only way to up the displacement on a D16Y8 to bore out the cylinders, or is there a crank that can be swapped in? Does anyone know of a machine shop in FL that perform the bore?

To go to a 1.8l you'll need to sleeve the block. I don't think the factory sleeves will withstand that much material coming out of it.

Your engine is Bore 75mm x Stroke 90mm = 1590.38cc

You need to get a 1.8l you would need to go with 80mm pistons, which would give you a 1809.50cc engine.

So this means you need to bore the block 5mm total. I don't think you'll have much of a factory sleeve left when your done.

Sorry.

why go against the grain when you can just do what everyone else does in your situation and just swap with a B18c.

Why go against the grain? Mainly for just that reason, I think I could turn alot of heads with a 300+ hp sohc. I know I can sleeve and bore it, I was really hoping someone knew a little trick for stroking, perhaps a b18 crank... (like an H22 crank in a B18 which yields just over 2L)

I'm in love. They brought a D16 to 2000cc. D20. There is no website listed in scc but the phone number is (310) 516-1003

i just called. they have a stroker kit that will apply to a 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 or a 2 leter motor. they have street and strip application, and also a boost application for all stroker kits, the 1.8 leter street kit is roughly 2200 i think not shure on that though. it comes with wrings, wristpins, crank, rods, pistons, they use je or another brand of pistons i forget. they upgrade the rods for boost applications.
they will have a website sometime in the next month to display what they have. they seam to know what theyare talking about and was quick to answer any qestions that i had. i wanna do it.

i like going agianst the grain ( b-series motors) with my turbo zc. i could have spent the same amount of money for a gsr swap and with all the bolts ons, port work, upgraded valve train and ecu, vtec controller etc.. and still not be as fast or as fun as my turbo zc.

yeah that R & D 2.0L D series motor was Bisi's.

The name of the shop is R&D Dyno out of Carson, CA. That's the info I got from that number.... I'd go for a 2L SOHC anyday. They have a web spot set aside at
