Default D15z1 D16y5

Got some good questions. Already searched didnt find the correct anwser.

1st.Port Size (I know all d series manifolds are interchangable.) I own a d15z1, I would like to bolt on a d15b7 intake manifold and throttle body, is the intake PORTS on the vx head any SMALLER than the runners of the d15b7 intake manifold.Other words is the air going to smoothly flow into the head or is it going to ram the ports on the head because there smaller?I would go with z6 y5 y8 manifold but dont have money right now.

2nd. EGR(I want to use d15b7 manifold because i have it, i know i should use the d16y5 because it has egr, but i heard the runners are pretty big, as in maybe to big for vx head plus i dont have it) If i run the d15b7 manifold i wont have egr, if i leave all the electrical plugged in just not bolted to a manifold will it run bad, lean, etc. I heard of that being the case but my vx manifold seems to only recirculate exhaust gas to cyliners 1 and 2. Atleast that is how the casting looks on the Intake manifold.Anyone know the truth.

3rd. (This isnt important right now but since i got some vtec e guys in here i thought i would ask.) What is needed to d16y5 ecu in my 93 civic. I cant just grab a y5 interior harness can i, i mean doesnt some of it run to the obd 1 cluster?

get yourself a d16y8 manifold. you'll lose power with the b7 mani. teh y8 is the best-flowing sohc manifold honda makes.

Y5 and Y8 have the same manifold dimensions, except Y5 has egr.

Thus; not the same manifold.
