A d15b7 tranny is the civic dx tranny.. A d16z6 is a civic ex/si motor.. It will work fine but why.. If your going NA then you want the ex/si tranny.. But to answer your question.. Yes it will bolt up and work fine..

If your are planning on swapping a z6 tranny for a dx tranny then you are down grading your tranny. Not sure why you would do this unless yours just went and you have one lying around as a temp solution.

besides the fact a D15B7 tranny having gas-saver-like/non-performance gear ratios, it WILL mount up to a D16Z6 block. Just make sure you reuse your D15B7 clutch+disc/flywheel/and mounting hardware if the Z6 doesn't come with any of those components.

The z6 uses the same clutch/flywheel/pressure plate as the b7 does.. Its all 212mm parts..

Well, the only reason we were looking into it was because I want to do an auto -> manual swap, and this tranny kind of fell in my lap. It's not my first choice, but a lot of people seem to think d16z parts are made of gold...

You can pick up a si tranny pretty cheap.. But it you do have a dx tranny anything you get for it like a performance clutch and flywheel will work on the dx and the si trannies.. So if you have a dx tranny now I would say just use that and get an si later when you find a good deal on one..

Yes, I know this.

He didn't exactly tell us if the Z6 is equipped with complete clutch components.

Not sure what you mean by complete clutch componets.. Either way it doesnt matter what clutch setup he has.. They all will work..

your joking in that first statement, right? ....
clutch components = flywheel, pressure plate, disk, throw-out bearing & pilot bearing.

I agree with your 2nd statement.
