Default D15b1 starting issue

So I built a d15b1 and it stalled after cranking a few times n no fire I torqued everything to spec, brand new clutch, thowout bearing, pilot bearing, pressure plate, and every replaceable part in the block is all new. Starter is brand new only used a few times in my old CRX, dizzy came with the motor though so not 100% it works but doubt it would cause it to do this, the weird thing is when I tried turning it over by hand a bunch of gas came out of my header (left exhaust unhooked for first fire, also before any of this my starter went crazy sine I used a fat 4g wire from the positive n it somehow was getting current through the negitive with a rubber sleeve on 2nd attempt fire o.O this is on a 91 civic dx hatch, wasn't sure what forum to post this on but I'm trying to be as detailed as possible, just wanting some opinions on what it might be im positive it was in time also so I don't think its a bent valve

I forgot to put it was also throwin a code 10 which I believe is #1 cylinder position or so ive been told.. I know I timed it right but that's the only thing I keep thinking is somehow bent a valve which wouldn't b a huge issue dpfi heads r super cheap, I got the day off tomorrow I think ill poke around a bit n if it comes down to it ill pull the head
