Default D15b 3 stage vtec

Hello everyone, my d15b 3 stage vtec head is tapping. It has been for over a year and I have put over 30k miles on it.(I drive it cross country from TX to CO often.) A short story of what happened to it was it stopped starting, found out the cam shaft broke from the distributor side. I welded it together as it was only the very tip of it that turned the dist rotor. I put it back together and it has been tapping ever since. There are retainers that go onto the rocker arms and I can visibly see two of them that are broken. When lashing the valves cyl 1(or 4?) is not adjusting, in fact when I try to adjust it the screw actually just comes out instead of adjusting the valve. I was thinking of just buying a whole new set of retainers and replacing them, but as this is an extremely rare engine I have been unable to find them even at Honda. They say they don't have them for Japanese engines in the US. I have given up. I am currently looking for a suitable head to swap on to my 3 stage block. Preferably something that will fit without any modification. I guess my question is are there any D series heads that fit directly onto the 3 stage block? I have searched for quite a while to find what block the 3 stage is similar to and have been unsuccessful. Any help is greatly appreciated as there is not a lot of info on this engine.

Why do people never list car and other pertinent technical information in this technical forum?

What car is this engine sitting in?

It is a 96 Civic EX coupe. Had a y8 and I swapped it out for the 3stage as I got a good deal on it. I didn't post it because 3stage vtecs are obd II and was asking more for the engine and not for what would fit in the car. Chances are if it will fit on the 3 stage block I'll be good as I'm running the 3stage now.

Need to know what car because of wiring and ECU issues that go along with the kind of car and it is and what OBD it has!!!!! Swap a Y8 head on it with the Y8 ECU. There are some CELs you might throw due to it being a JDM engine and the USDM ECU looking for them. Knock sensor and CKF to name a couple. Do a search to learn how to deal with those.

Still running the y8 ECU. Awesome, so I'll just need a y8 head then.
