Default D series oil pump?

Are the D series oil pumps interchangeable? since the Y8 pump has a lower out put.. I was thinking of swapping it for ahigher performing factory unit... might nee to feed a turbo some day

I'm not too sure on the interchangeablity, but that's some good info to know. I wonder why there is such a big difference in output between the A6/Z6 pumps and the Y8 pumps.
