They are. Both are 0.037". The funniest part is the Y8 head gasket is cheaper than the Z6 at the dealership.

That's why I was wondering the Z6 online is $45, the Y8 $26

How safe is it to buy a real thin headgasket to raise compression?
Will any other mods need to be done while doing this?
What dould it take? Links to where i can buy an high compression headgasket.
Motor:d16z6 w-i/h/e...98,000 miles with 200 compression all the way across.
Thanks

With a thin head gasket on a Z6 your comp. probably won't be more than the Y8's factory comp. so you should be fine. You could run 92+ octane for extra assurance

You need to make sure that you use the distributor for the head, you will need to change the plug over from the old one. The 2 different heads have the cam cut for the distributor differently. Its 1 tooth and about 20 degrees of timing. With out the right distributor itll run like ****.
