are automatic and manual axles the same on a d-series??

yes, my friend put some manual axels into a automatic car.

we were wondeirng the same thing before but it worked

Err.....I hope it was the passenger side then because that is the same. Driver's side is different. The automatic one is about twice the length. Won't work in a manual.

I believe you are thinking of the B-series axles with intermediate shaft vs. the D series which has one long shaft on the drivers side.

Yup...same axles.......D series have no intermediate shaft....so driver side is a long axle...
