CYP cel effecting ignition adjustments?
ok so i got my built head on now and after startup i got a CYP cel. I said ok, this must be why the car will not hold an idle at all. But i was hoping that maybe i could adjust the IACV duty cycle or bump the idle ignition a few degrees so it doesnt fall on its face and stall when i let off the gas. if this would fix that, i could atleast make the short drive home and short drive to work and back without having to fight the throttle.
Well i did both of those and it made no difference at all. i think got to thinking deeper into it. Would making ignition changes with this cel even change anything considering the ECU already doesnt have any clue where #1 is. Advancing/Retarding the timing is just going to screw things up even more? Or would this ignition change even reach the engine considering these is a break in the circuit?

If you have a CYP CEL you will need to resolve that, as this component helps determine dynamic ignition control. More than likely it is wired backwards, all it is is a pickup coil, and it is polarity sensitive.
