Default cv boot replacement

hey guys... i was about to replace the brakes on my friend's car ('95 Civic SI H/B) today when i found a load of grease all over the place... culprit: torn cv boot.

the boot hadn't torn even when i was down there inspecting the brakes last week, so it just happened this week. should be ok, right? no clicking or anything yet.

i'm planning on replacing the boot tomorrow or the day after... are there any special tools that i might need? don't wanna get stuck halfway into the job. thanks.

Most peepd just end up plugging in new axles, rather then trying/having them rebuilt. Turns out to be cheaper in the long run, and alot less of a mess...
