CV Band HOW?

CV Band HOW?
hey
ok i'm doing my cv boots..and the only cant figure out is..how to put on the cv dual band..its not like the ones i took off..i guess u have to wrap em twice..but no matter how i tried i cant get to hold the boot down tightly...the oldes ones actually have alittle metal peice sticky out from the bottom to hold it tightly and then u can clamp it down..bue these ones just have one long *** band and a hole to put it through thats it..what? do i need some special tool or something...bah y did the dealers stop carrying the olds ones..? little help?

You prolly got the bands that you stick the free end through the tab and bend it back and smash down the little ears then cut off the excess.

yeah i think so..but i tried that and its not tight enough..and i asked the sales rep. from honda and he said u wrap it twice..(cuase its like 2 feet long band)thats even worse..theres no way i can get it tight the 2nd time if i cant do it the 1st time..damn zip ties works? i'm just worrying how long they would last..

use a good sized flathead screwdriver to hold the tab and a plier to pull on the free end. Pull on the free end back over the tab while pushing the tab with the screwdriver. Then use a hammer and tap the free end down so it is contoured over the tab. Hopes this helps. That's how I do it.
