Default Custom exhaust problem, what to do?

I'm going to have a custom exhaust run. It's going to be set up similar to the RS*R GT 2 Spec exhaust. I've got a Magnaflow high flow cat, resinator and muffler, all 2.25" inlet/oulet(except muffler 2.25" inlet 2.5" race core/4"tip). The car is being set up for road racing. I've got a semi-street/mild race N/A set up, using a D15/16 hybrid. What i'm trying to figure out or find the best solution for, is the header to exhaust. The header is a Neuspeed N2 4-2-1 (2pc). The collectors outlet is only 1.75", the exhaust i'm going to run is going to be 2.25". Now should I just have a custom piece made to couple the header to the cat, essentially stepping it? Or would it be best to cut the collector pipe off and replace the 1.75" tubing w/ 2.25"? Any suggestion or solutions are welcome.
Thanks-Jason

either way would be fine. If you were really worried about power youd prob run open header any way right?

Of course if he ran with an open header, he'd need earplugs and aspirin.
