Curiousity
Here's the specifications for you:
JDM 97-01 Prelude VTEC
2157cc (DOHC VTEC)
Horsepower: 202hp@6800rpm
Torque: 161lbs-ft@5500rpm
Compression: 10.6:1
Bore: 87mm
Stroke: 90.7mm
OBD: 2
Redline: 8200rpm
2001 Accord LX Coupe - Weight: 2,943lbs
VS.
JDM 97-01 Integra GS-R
1797cc (DOHC VTEC)
Horsepower: 178hp@7600rpm
Torque: 129lbs-ft@6200rpm
Compression: 10.6:1
Bore: 81mm
Stroke: 87.2mm
OBD: 2
Redline: 8200rpm
2001 Acura Integra LS - Weight: 2,643lbs
The curb weight is cited from Carsdirect.com, if you care to look. Now the Accord is 300lbs. heavier, that is a difference. However with a H22A G2 the engine is putting out 22HP more, give or take, and 31lbs. of torque when compared to the B18C G2. I think that makes up for about 250-275lbs. difference between the two cars. Granted the Integra may beat the Accord, that is a very good possibilty, but I don't think you're giving the Accord enough credit nor are you aware of what it's capabilities are. The H22A G2 is also 1k cheaper than the B18C G2 on most import engine sites, which is a big difference. So in conclusion, if we were talking about 1/4 mile times I think that the difference between the two cars, if the drivers were similar in driving abilities , would be .2-.3 at the very most. However, in terms of cornering, twists, and turns I'd give it to the Integra but the Accord wouldn't be very far behind. So basically it's a preference and there isn't any HUGE difference between the two.
Does this seem pretty accurate? This is based on my own research and this was a discussion in a forum on honda-acura.net, specifically here - http://www.honda-acura.net/for...79973

Just remember a few things. Every additional horsepower you add to the integra will make more of a difference than with the accord. The lighter weight of the integra is benificial not just for acceleration, but for cornering and braking as well. You could almost say that weight is three times as important as power, as it affects three aspects of the car, not just one. A huge H22 will not help you get from 130 to 40 in a braking zone, but losing 300 lbs will.
Conclusion: I contend that stock for stock, there will in fact be a large difference in the relative performance of the two cars. After the integra pulls away down the straightaway, it will go deeper into the braking zone, and get to shed less speed in a shorter amount of time as it enters the corner, which it will travel through quicker.
Oh, and welcome to H-T.
