Default CTR pistons in a B18C1?

If I put CTR pistons in my B18C1 do I have to bore it out and will it raise my compression from 10.6:1?

You wont have to bore out your sleeves unless the pistons are oversized pistons.

You will have to Hone the cylinder walls and install new rings, but not bore it.

And your CR will be WAY over 10.6:1, more like 12.3:1

Make sure you clay the engine before you build it. You may end up with piston slap on the head.

Piston slap? Why would that be an issue? The pistons are the same except for the dome. The valve reliefs are pretty much the same also. Many people have ran CTR pistons in their B18C with no problems. Just high compression. B18C-R = ~12.3:1. B18C = ~12.6:1.

Ok, if you say so.

Remember, Ryan told you it was OK to just put them in and go. So if you have problems with your engine, don't forget who told you to clay your engine first.

How are you guys getting such high compression from just slapping PCT slugs in?? std bore CTR pistons in a B18C1 will yield a compression closer to ~12.05:1 and you figure if you bore .25 over which i would always do to have nice clean cylinder walls that will add another ~0.05... I'm just curious how you are getting these numbers?? I'm figuring this on the P72 cylinder head too... With the B18C-R/C5 or the PR3 head you're going to loose about what you were figuring from that ~0.20-0.30.... You figure that a B18C1 with the JDM ITR P73-00 slugs in it and the stock C1 head will have a C/R of ~11.35 just from the difference of taking out 1.1cc's from the head... Now the difference in piston dome from the P73-00 slugs and PCT's is only ~2.67cc's (8.63cc-5.96cc)/(difference in the PR3 head and the P72... 1.1cc's) = 2.42*(the change in C/R from the PR3 head to the P72... ~0.72) so ~11.35+0.72='s ~12.07:1... That's just the numbers i get but maybe i'm doing something wrong... Latez
